Welcome to my first post of WIPocalypse 2013, my name is Christine. I am a mother of four. Three daughters and one son. Right now I am going to school to become a Registered Dietitian. I've enjoyed cross stitching since I was thirteen or fourteen, and have memories of my great-grandmother and her sister always with needles in their hands. I find that cross stitching helps me to relax! I live in Arizona now, but I am originally from So. California, and hope to one day be back stitching by the beach again.
My focus piece for January has been Chatelaine's Desert Mandala. Here's an update pic with a couple more of the flowers stitched up.
Also I've been working on LHN "Snow Bunnies" from the 2007 JCS ornament issue.
Some of the WIPS that I hope to stitch more on are TW's Egyptian Sampler, and Mirabila's Queen Mermaid. Something new I'd like to start are the New Mirabilia's Roses of Provence, Chatelaine's Japanese Moss Covered Zen Garden, and after admiring this finished ORCHID inspires me to start Paris When it Sizzles by Dimples Design....SO I'm also looking for some inspiration, something having to do with the SEA possibly!! :D
Thank you for stopping by!! Until next time Happy Stitching!

Question of the Week #1
Question of the Week #1
Are you stitching any Chatelaine designs? or is there a design, maybe TWO or THREE, that you are swooning over??
Right now, my focus piece is Desert Mandala #30. I've started an Evening in the Park and Ruby. The designs I would love to add to my ever growing stash, is the NEW Japanese Moss Garden , and Serengenti Mandala #92.

Themelicious 2013 Update
Here are a couple pics of Chatelaine's Desert Mandala. Martina's choice of colors have always been brillant. The AZ sunset is gorgeous and I absolutely love stitching the cacti flower and the squash blossom. Simply beautiful.
And here is the January Ornament Theme TREE. It's from the 2007 JCS ornament issue, Little House Needleworks, "SnowBunnies"

Theme-A-Licious 2013
Jardin January
The holidays were a little stressful…let’s relax in a nice garden. Work on any piece with flowers or gardens.
Given that I've been working on Chatelaines Desert Mandala, I've set my goal to finish the desert flowers by the end of January, so that's the first month. Oh Yea!
——————————-
Figural February
Who are the people in your neighborhood…your WIP neighborhood, that is? Give your people-populated projects some face time this month.
March Madness
Work on something different every day…it’s madness…of the funnest possible kind.
Amazon April
Dip your needle into the vast swath of fabric dedicated to your BIGGEST projects!
Monochrome May
Pick a color, any color, then stitch only on projects that contain that color for the month!
Jumanji June
Is it a jungle out there in your stash? Give some love to the projects with animals or birds.
Jubilee July
It’s time to celebrate! What are you celebrating this year? Stitch on your holiday-related projects, OR find some WIPs you know you’ll never finish and set them free.
Airborne August
What’s that soaring through the air with the greatest of ease? It’s the things with wings on your WIPs!
Sampler September
Whether you’re stitching the alphabet over and over (and over), starting your own band (sampler), or marking some spots, this is your month!
Opulent October
It’s time to don your tiaras and bring the bling! Stitch on projects with sparkly fibers, beads or charms.
No-Xs November
What can you make without making an X?? Blackwork, hardanger, embroidery, needlelace, and the list goes on! Don’t panic…you can even backstitch for the month!
Detritus December
For the Theme-A-Licious Ornament EditionIt’s the end of the year…are there some projects you thought you’d have done by now? Let’s take a walk down memory lane and start the new year with a clean plate.
January | tree or wreath |
February | snowman (or snowlady!) |
March | 3D ornament |
April | Santa or elves |
May | any monochrome ornament |
June | reindeer |
July | your choice |
August | angels or birds |
September | verse |
October | bells |
November | hardanger or blackwork |
December | your choice--or do some ornament finishing |
My goal for this year is to finish Desert Mandala and an ornament and a few other WIPs to reduce my stash, of course!!
